Huron County Community Foundation 2022 Annual Report

Dear Friends, We hit a milestone in 2022 as the Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF) completed its first full year since receiving nonprofit status and beginning operations as an independent entity. This has been a long-time goal of ours and we are excited to be moving forward with a renewed sense of energy and community spirit. For over 25 years, the Foundation has worked to improve the quality of life in Huron County, now and for generations to come, through charitable giving and connecting donors to community needs. In this report—our inaugural Annual Report—you will learn more about some of these caring individuals and gain insight into how philanthropy can strengthen a community. One of our goals is to positively impact as many Huron County children as possible. We demonstrate this goal through the numerous scholarships we administer. I know you will enjoy reading about two of our largest scholarship programs, those in place with the Norwalk City and Western Reserve Local school districts, and about the Oney Families Scholarship and how one local family’s generosity is leaving a legacy. Community foundations are an invaluable resource, providing a powerful and highly personal approach to giving. Through endowment, gifts are invested forever and the earnings they make each year support nonprofits and scholar- ships. We are lucky to have such a valuable resource right here in our backyard.
